Recorded from Roadster combo with cheap directional Peavey mic, close to grill (mostly on-axis, speaker cone edge center). Drums suck, ignore them. I used Jackson SL3-MG tuned to Drop C (CGCFAD) with super-thick gauge strings installed. The roadster was configured for my favorite tone (vintage, recto tracking, very small mid cut, very small treble cut) and boosted over 12 DB by MXR 10-band EQ, in addition to hot EMGs. The MXR EQ was set to boost around 125-250 Hz (more so 125), cut around 1 - 4 khz (most around 1 khz). 1 hkz through 16 khz ended up looking like checkerboard after I found the sweet setting (subsequent ones cut then boosted then cut then boosted, etc). I am going for my favorite Dope tone, like from Take Your Best Shot.
